What are the requirements to rent a motorcycle?To rent a motorcycle, you must: Be at least 25 years old Hold a valid full motorcycle license (international licenses are accepted if in English or with a certified translation) Have at least two years of recent riding experience on a similar-sized motorcycle

Do I need an international driving permit (IDP)?If your license is not in English, you’ll need an IDP or a certified translation. New Zealand authorities require English-language documentation for verification.

What is included in the rental price?Fully-insured motorcycle hire Luggage systems (panniers – depending on the bike) Basic roadside assistance 400 kilometres per day, additional kilometres are charged at NZ$0.50 per kilometer Luggage storage at Guzzi NZ head quarters

What type of insurance is included?All rentals include full vehicle insurance with a standard excess (bond).

What if I damage the motorcycle?You are liable for damages up to the insurance excess amount (NZ$3,000.00). Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be assessed upon return. A pre-ride inspection report is completed with each rental.

Can I ride off-road or on beaches?No. Our motorcycles are strictly for use on sealed, public roads. Riding on gravel, off-road, beaches, or racetracks is strictly prohibited and will void insurance coverage.

Are there mileage restrictions?Our rentals come with a set 400 kilometres per day. For mileage over and above this, you’ll be charged a fee of NZ$0.50c per kilometer.

Can I take the motorcycle between New Zealand’s North and South islands?Yes, bikes can be taken on the Interislander Ferry of Bluebridge Ferry. A tour of New Zealand wouldn’t be complete without experiencing both islands

Is riding gear provided?This riding experience is for competent riders who will have their own gear that they are comfortable in. We recommend riding gear that is suitable for all weather situations. A recommended gear list is available. A limited selection of gear is available as may be needed

What if I have a mechanical issue or breakdown?The hire includes New Zealand AA roadside assistance for breakdowns. For serious mechanical issues, contact us immediately.

Can I ride with a passenger (pillion)?Yes, we have bikes that are suitable for two-up riding. Please contact us to discuss further.

Is a security deposit required?Yes. A refundable security bond (usually equivalent to the insurance excess) is held on your credit card during the hire period. This is released upon safe return of the motorcycle in satisfactory condition.

Do you offer bike hire, self-ride hires or guided tours?We offer all three! Choose to simply hire a bike and off you go Hire a bike and take a self-guided tour - which we can help you plan and map out Or take a fully guided bike tour with support, accommodation, and experienced tour leaders

How do I book a motorcycle?You can book by calling us or emailing us. A deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due prior to or on the day of pick-up.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations made more than 90 days before hire, receive a full refund, minus admin fee. Cancellations 30 days before the hire date receive a partial refund (less an admin fee). Cancellations within 30 days are subject to full or partial forfeiture depending on timing. Full details are in our rental terms and conditions.

Can I return the motorcycle to a different location?Yes, this can be arranged. A relocation fee will be applicable where bikes are not returned to our base in the North Island.

What happens in bad weather?Rides continue rain or shine. Refunds are not issued for weather-related cancellations unless it is deemed unsafe by authorities (e.g., road closures or weather warnings).

Is fuel included in the rental?No, fuel is not included. Bikes are provided with a full tank and must be returned full. A refueling fee may apply if returned with less fuel.

Do you offer luggage storage for non-riding gear?Yes, we provide secure storage for your suitcases or other luggage while you're out on the bike.

Can I use my phone for navigation?Yes, we can provide phone mounts upon request. Some bikes are equipped with USB charging. We also offer optional GPS units.

Do I need to pay a deposit when booking?Yes, a booking deposit is typically required to secure your reservation. The balance is due before or on the day of pick-up.

What are your pick-up and return times?Standard hours are between 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. Early or late pick-up/drop-off is possible by prior arrangement.
